I made it!!

Yes!! I got a $7,500 scholarship for the EU-Australia Global Citizenship Exchange program 2008!! I know a lot of you probably didn't even know I was applying for it again (it's the same one I applied for last year but missed out on by only one spot...) but I did :) It's all gone so fast too, come to think of it. Only two weeks ago I had this info meeting on the program again with about 25 other interested students and a week later I had arranged a letter of recommendation, revised my motivation letter and the rest of my application file and handed in my application. Last Tuesday came an invite for an interview, which I hadn't really expected anymore because they were supposed to do the first selection round on the Friday before that, but something had come up so they were late... I was so excited by then already :) So I had the interview two days ago on the Thursday, which went okay. I was not as nervous and I felt pretty happy about it when I walked out. They asked me totally different questions than last time though, so I couldn't really decide what type of person they wanted for the program anymore, but I heard they had only invited 10 people for the interviews anyway and there were 7 scholarships to be handed out. So a 70% chance was pretty high, but I didn't dare to hope anymore because of last time... And I was up against all these International Relations students again...

But then last night, just before I went to bed and checked my email before I shut down the computer, I found a message in my inbox saying I got one of the scholarships!!
So not only will I be found in Australia July/August 2007, but also Feb-July 2008!! There's this sort of seminar thingy in Sydney for one or two weeks mid Feb, and then the rest of the time I'll be studying at Flinder's uni in Adelaide, which I know it's not the most riveting city around but I'm just sooo happy I can go :) And of course I'll try to travel around a bit as well :) I can't wait!! I was just smiling from ear to ear all night long and didn't get much sleep last night coz the adrenaline was just pumping through my blood like crazy, haha. It's so awesome :) So very awesome. I can't believe I made it...
