One week... one month

So I've got this assignment for uni for which we have to make a magazine, and I was smart enough to volunteer to do the lay-out. I love doing lay-out, but, like me, the people in my group are last-minute workers, which means all their stuff is yet to be sent to me. And the magazine has to be done by tomorrow night!! Presentation on it on Tuesday. It's a very awesome assignment though, I've been loving it despite all the time that has gone into it so far. It's a subject on globalisation, so we have to make a magazine on that from different academic perspectives. Our self-chosen subtheme is human rights, and once upon a time we had all six different academic fields we were supposed to have (history, physics, biology, philosophy, economics and anthropology) represented in the magazine, but then our group fell apart and now we only have the last three perspectives left. I'm doing the anthropological view and it's seriously such interesting stuff!! I've been researching on how indigenous peoples use their cultural identity as a weapon in the struggles for cultural grouprights. Learned some Australian history in the process, coz I used the Mabo vs. Queensland case as a case-study in my article. I love it :)
Unfortunately I also still have two other essays to write after we've done the presentation on Tuesday. Half-way through the first one... my uni has this idea of having their students reflect on their studies and the academic choices they made after each semester, which you have to put in some sort of portfolio. You can't finish your bachelor degree without having finished your portfolio to a satisfactory standard. My course is even tighter on that and has their students write a 'reflection-essay' at the end of each semester. So I have to write 1000-1200 words about what I learned this year... I'll just be crapping on I guess, haha. I'm very good at that when it comes to writing stuff :) The other essay is for a subject I haven't gone to all term coz I was smart enough to plan both my subjects at the same times in the uni-roster. So we'll see how that goes, but so far I'm doing pretty good on that subject with exams and essays I've already had to do. Who needs classes anyway :) And all that is supposed to be finished by Monday arvo, which makes Tuesday next week my first official summer holiday day!! Can't wait :)
So one week from now I'll be done with uni, and one month from now I'll be arriving in Perth!! Only one month left, I just can't believe it :) So excited!! It's going to be 6 weeks of absolute awesomeness and probably also weeks of getting on each other's nerves while travelling with the fam in a camper van for about two weeks along the WA coast and a 5-day camping safari in the centre. Confined spaces can bring out the worst in people, haha. But still, the awesomeness will no doubt prevail :) And I just can't wait to see all of you in Melbourne again in August after almost two years... This will be a summer to remember for sure :)
My love to all of you. I hope you're all well.
Love Carine
